Read Part 2! The Dress!
In keeping with the 1930's Hollywood Glam style for our apparel, I wanted Zac and his groomsmen to wear modern style Zoot Suits.
From Wikipedia: "A zoot suit has high-waisted, wide-legged, tight-cuffed pegged trousers and a long coat with wide lapels and wide padded shoulders. Often zoot suiters wear a felt hat with a long feather and pointy, French-style shoes (Spanish: calcos)... Zoot suits usually featured a watch chain dangling from the belt to the knee or below, then back to a side pocket."

I'm not a huge fan of the tight-cuffed around the ankles look. Nor am I am fan of the fact that they kind of look like parachute pants... but the more modernized suits that you can rent/buy at tux shops today taper slightly at the ankle, but not too much. I love the longer jackets. I couldn't find any pictures of people wearing vests with their zoot suits, but Zac and his guys are wearing them with theirs. I think it makes the suits look more formal and crisp.
We decided to rent the suits from Joseph A. Bank because their prices were good, and they had the color red
I pulled together a quick rendition of the suits on their website... I can't quite remember which color choices Zac hd picked for himself and his groomsmen, but I'm pretty sure the only difference is the vests and ties are either red or black.
Here's what it looks like!
I'm hoping that the black from the vest and the suit don't clash as much in person as they do in the photo.. But nothing ever looks the same in pictures as in person, so we shall see!
I would have preferred no pin stripes either, but it's all that they had, and I don't mind it. I think the guys will look great!! :)
My DH wore a black vest with a pinstriped vest at our wedding. It didn't clash at all in person.
